Event Streams

Twilio Event Streams is Generally Available

We are excited to announce that the Twilio Event Streams is now Generally Available. Based on feedback from our beta release, Event Streams now offers more capabilities to seamlessly funnel your Twilio event data right into your existing infrastructure.

What’s New in GA:

  • Event Streams now supports 80+ event types across 10+ Twilio products, significantly expanding on use cases you could build.
  • Adding  Segment Sink allows you to stream events to 400+ destinations as well as use Segment Unify to build a complete view of your customer journey.
  • General Availability means that you can expect a resilient and scalable service.
  • We also eliminated Sink Validation, simplifying the Sink configuration process.
  • Added on-demand test events to verify your sink connections are working correctly

Sendgrid Engagement Quality Score API

Introducing the SendGrid Engagement Quality Score now available via API! The SEQ score is a composite deliverability score that focuses on engagement related feedback from mailbox providers. The top level score will tell you at a glance how strong your deliverability is, but you can also drill down into your performance against the following 5 dimensions: Bounce Classification, Bounce rate, Engagement Recency, Open Rate and Spam Rate. Improving these dimensions will directly support optimizing deliverability and reach. You can find out more about the SEQ API here.

Flex Interconnect Voice Elastic SIP trunking

ACTION REQUIRED: Upcoming changes to Twilio Interconnect IPs

Effective February 21, 2024, Twilio will expand the Interconnect media IPs and port ranges for calls in all regions; we’ll also expand the RTP port range to 10000-60000 UDP.

We’ve started migrating our non-Interconnect traffic, and we’ll migrate all Interconnect traffic to the expanded port ranges listed below before February 21, 2024.

We’re making this change to improve the flexibility, reliability, and scalability of our Voice products. We previously communicated this change in November 2022 via Twilio Changelog

Update your network infrastructure to allowlist the new IP and port ranges below (in addition to the IP and port ranges your network infrastructure currently allows).

  • 168.86.128.0/18
  • UDP port range: 10000-60000 (expanding from 10000-20000)

For example, you will need to update your firewall and BGP prefix if you have a Cross Connect and Encryption Domain if you have a VPN.

Lastly, keep old IP and port ranges open in your infrastructure after February 21, 2024; these ranges won’t be able to accept or send Voice media traffic after this time, but they need to stay open for signaling and API traffic.

If you don’t take action by February 21, 2024, you will experience one-way audio and dropped calls.

Messaging Voice

Extended notice and update on security changes: HTTP Authentication for Voice and Messaging Media enabled by default

Twilio previously announced the enforcement of HTTP authentication for Programmable Voice and Programmable Messaging media on new accounts on 31 July, 2023. We’ve made the decision to roll-out these changes more gradually, so the initial scope and timeline has been adjusted.
