As of 17th of June, 2024, Voice Intelligence is generally available. Voice Intelligence is designed to enhance your voice communications by providing deep insights and analytics from your calls.

When using the Set Variables widget and Run Subflow widget, parameters are (by default) parsed as strings. Use the `parse as JSON object` option when you know a parameter will be a JSON object. This will allow the variable to be properly interpreted as a JSON object so you can reference its attributes within the Studio flow. 

The `parse as JSON object` option allows you to:

• Set or pass an existing JSON object and reference its members as variables.

• Set a literal JSON string (Liquid reference to a JSON string, or a mixture of JSON and Liquid) and access it as an object. 

New subscriptions to Voice Intelligence Event Streams Types will be restricted. The following Event Types are impacted:

• com.twilio.engagement-intelligence.transcript.finished
• com.twilio.engagement-intelligence.transcript.operators.results-available

Several countries and networks require registration for Alphanumeric Sender ID, Phone Numbers, or Short Codes. When you have registered a Sender with Twilio, we automatically override the value provided in the "From" parameter with your registered Sender on any messages sent to that destination.

It’s now easier for large organizations to manage their Toll-Free records efficiently.

Customers registering for Toll-Free numbers can now retrieve all Subaccount verification records under a main account by using the new ‘IncludeSubAccounts’ parameter. This update simplifies the process, eliminating the need for separate authentication and retrieval for each Subaccount.

Use twilio/catalog to send items and services directly to your customers on WhatsApp and guide them through a transaction

Twilio will end-of-sale (EOS) its Twilio Engage Premier product on June 10, 2024. Existing customers can continue to use Twilio Engage Premier. However, Twilio will not be offering new feature enhancements or releases going forward. 

Customers may use Twilio SendGrid Marketing Campaigns for email or our preferred ISVs or other multichannel marketing providers of choice as they will be set up to help customers meet their multichannel marketing needs. No immediate action is required from customers at this time. Looking ahead, we will announce the end-of-life (EOL) later in the year, with the goal to sunset the Engage Premier edition by the end of 2025. We'll provide you more details as they become available to ensure you have ample time to plan and transition smoothly. 

The Flex Plugins CLI can now help validate your plugins against the latest Flex UI version to ensure compatibility. The recommendations displayed by this command help you follow best practices to keep your plugin code compatible with Flex UI as the platform evolves. However, it cannot guarantee compatibility. This command also runs implicitly as part of the Deploy command.

The 7.0.0 release also includes:

• Enhancements to the CLI version update notifier 

• Integrated telemetry for all of the commands

• Security fixes

• Removal of unused dependencies

This update includes two breaking changes:

• Because the twilio:flex:plugins:deploy command now validates plugins as part of the deployment process, version 7.0.0 and later can disrupt automated deployments, such CI/CD pipelines. When the Deploy command runs, if the validation process finds any errors, the deployment process stops to ask for input. To prevent this issue, use the --bypass-validation option on your Deploy command to skip plugin validation for automated deployments. For details, see Deploy in the Flex Plugins CLI reference.
• Node v14 is no longer supported. Your plugins must be compatible with Node v16.x or later.
