[U.S. A2P 10DLC] New Starter Brand Registrations deprecated

Twilio has deprecated the ability to register new Starter Brands due to updated registration requirements from The Campaign Registry (TCR). As a result, the option to create or update Starter Profiles or Brands is disabled in the Twilio Console and APIs. API requests to create or update Starter Profiles will fail with error code 22404; API requests to create or update Starter Brands will fail with error code 21726.

Previously registered Starter Brands and Campaigns are subject to new data validation requirements. Any campaigns and brands that do not meet those requirements will be deleted by Twilio on behalf of customers starting Nov 3rd.

Customers with Tax IDs are requested to register for A2P 10DLC using the Low Volume Standard Brand or Standard Brands options.

For more information, please check out our recent blog post which explains the process for new registrations and the criteria for keeping existing registrations.

New <Gather> Speech Recognition Models

We have added two new speech recognition models to <Gather>: experimental_conversations and experimental_utterances. Experimental models are designed to give access to the latest speech technology and machine learning research, and can provide higher accuracy for speech recognition over other models, but do not support all languages and lack some features like confidence scores.

Billing Changes for Conference, Voice Insights, and BYOC Usage

Effective October 1, 2022, usage for Conference, Voice Insights Advanced Features, and BYOC connectivity minutes will round up to the next minute. Your usage has been underbilled due to an error in our systems that calculate Conference, Voice Insights Advanced Features, and BYOC connectivity usage. We’ll absorb the historical cost of our error and you’ll see updated billing on your invoice starting October 1, 2022.

Most Twilio Voice products are usage-based and round up to the minute by default. There are no partial minutes; for example, a call that is 1 minute and 18 seconds is charged for 2 minutes. However, your contract may stipulate sub-minute billing for some billable items.

Flex projects include Conference and Voice Insights Advanced Features as part of the Fair Usage Policy and should not expect to see price increases for in-quota usage.

Bug fix for PDD values being reported higher than actual values for some scenarios

We recently discovered a bug in our calculation of Post Dial Delay (PDD) for PSTN/SIP calls with more than one routing attempt. This resulted in an incorrect calculation of PDD and for these calls we were reporting a PDD value which was higher than the actual value.Starting 23 September 2022 all calculations of PDD in VoiceInsights (Console and API) will reflect the correct and updated value.

Twilio SendGrid: Email Monitor to be Retired

Twilio SendGrid will retire Email Monitor on December 13, 2022. Email Monitor allows customers to retrieve a sample of their Subusers' emails for reputation monitoring. Due to low adoption, we will remove Email Monitor as part of our work to simplify and improve the Twilio SendGrid user experience.

On December 13, 2022, you will not be able to use or access Email Monitor. If Email Monitor is essential to your experience, please adapt your workflow or build a custom solution to fit your needs prior to this date.
