This error occurs when you register an A2P 10DLC Brand as a nonprofit and The Campaign Registry cannot confirm IRS 501(c) tax-exempt status for the entity in your registration. You cannot use the Brand to create campaigns until you correct the nonprofit registration details and resubmit.
- The organization is not a US entity, and only US entities qualify for the nonprofit Brand type.
- The organization is not verified as a US IRS-recognized nonprofit.
- The nonprofit registration details are incomplete, including the charitable subsection code needed for validation.
- The Trust Hub customer profile or Brand registration uses values that do not match nonprofit registration requirements, including Business Type, Business Industry, or Company Type.
- If the organization is not a qualifying US nonprofit, change the Brand company type to the correct value instead of
non_profitorUS Non Profit, then resubmit the Brand. - If the organization is a nonprofit, update the Trust Hub customer profile so Business Type is
Non-profit Corporation, Business Industry isNOT_FOR_PROFIT, and the Brand Company Type isnon_profitorUS Non Profit, then resubmit the Brand. - Verify that the legal business name and EIN in the customer profile exactly match the federal tax records. If you are registering a US entity, use the exact legal business name from the CP 575 notice or 147C letter.
