Shopping cart reminder programs must meet specific opt-in, privacy, tracking, and send-limit requirements. Reminders are limited to one message per abandoned cart, sent within 48 hours.

• The opt-in terms and conditions do not state that the program includes shopping cart reminders.
• The program does not include a text-based double opt-in confirmation.
• The double opt-in message does not tell the user the program includes shopping cart reminders.
• The privacy policy does not disclose how abandoned cart data is captured (for example, cookies or plugins), and the terms do not reflect the cart reminder policy.

• Require a text-based double opt-in confirmation before sending reminders.
• State in your terms and privacy policy how you link a consumer's phone number to an abandoned cart, for example through cookies or plugins.
• Include shopping cart reminders explicitly in your call-to-action and terms.
• Send only one reminder per unique abandoned cart, within 48 hours.
