30134: Invalid Dns Setup for Link shortening
MESSAGING
ERROR
This error indicates that the DNS configuration for your Link Shortening domain does not match the setup required for Twilio Link Shortening. Link Shortening works only after you complete onboarding for a domain or subdomain that you own and use with a Messaging Service.
- The domain or subdomain you configured for Link Shortening does not have the required DNS record in place.
- You are using a subdomain, but its CNAME record does not point to lsct.ashburn.us1.twilio.com.
- You are using a root domain, but it is not configured with CNAME Flattening, ALIAS, or ANAME to the required target.
- You are using the A record fallback for a root domain, but the record values do not match the current IPs provided by Twilio Support.
- Your DNS changes were saved recently and have not finished propagating yet.
- The domain or subdomain is not dedicated to Link Shortening, which can prevent the required DNS configuration from being applied cleanly.
- Use a domain or subdomain that you own and reserve only for Link Shortening. Verify that it is added to your Twilio Organization and associated with the Messaging Service you want to use.
- If you are using a subdomain, create or update its CNAME record so it points to lsct.ashburn.us1.twilio.com.
- If you are using a root domain, use CNAME Flattening, ALIAS, or ANAME when your DNS provider supports it.
- If your DNS provider does not support CNAME Flattening for a root domain, contact Twilio Support and update the root domain A record with the current IPs they provide.
- After updating DNS, allow time for propagation and then try the request again.
