# 30552: Opt-in is not customer-facing

Log Type: APPLICATION

Log Level: ERROR

## Description

This error applies to both Toll-Free Verification and A2P 10DLC registration.

The opt-in provided is not customer-facing and does not clearly show how the end user agrees to receive messages. Proof must show direct consent from the end user, not a staff member acting on their behalf.

### Possible causes

* The opt-in shows an admin dashboard or management interface with a checkbox such as "I confirm this customer has agreed to receive the SMS", indicating someone is checking the box on the customer's behalf.
* The opt-in does not clearly show the interaction between the business and the end user.

### Possible solutions

* Submit proof of direct end-user consent, such as a customer-facing web form, paper intake form, or verbal script.
* Do not use internal admin dashboards or staff-selected CRM checkboxes as opt-in proof, and resubmit with valid customer-facing proof.
